Time Ranger Privacy Policy
Invisible Game Design · Last updated 5 November 2026
This policy explains what information the VR game Time Ranger (“the game”), on Meta Quest and on Steam, collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can: the game has no accounts of its own and we never sell your information.
1. Information we collect
Gameplay analytics
You can turn this off; see section 3.
What: your head position and gaze direction in the game, controller movement and button use, which levels and sections you play and how they end (enemies hit, deaths, challenges completed), estimated arm length and standing height, play-area size, headset model and hardware details, framerate, battery level and Wi-Fi signal strength, and a device identifier.
Why: to find out which parts of the game are too hard, confusing or broken, and to fix performance problems.
Where it goes: Cognitive3D, our analytics provider.
Your Meta username and user ID (Meta Quest version only)
Why: to put your scores on the online leaderboards and show other players’ scores.
Where it goes: Meta, through the Meta Horizon platform. Your username and score are visible to other players on the leaderboards.
Purchases and entitlement
Why: to check that you own the game and to unlock anything you buy in it.
Where it goes: Meta (on Quest) or Valve (on Steam) handles all payments. We never see your payment details.
Settings and progress
Unlocked levels, best scores and options.
Why: to remember your progress and preferences.
Where it goes: stored only on your headset.
The game does not record your voice or microphone, does not use the headset cameras, and does not collect your real name, email address, contacts or precise location. Our service providers may see your IP address when the game connects to them, as any online service does.
2. Who we share it with
Cognitive3D processes the gameplay analytics for us. See the Cognitive3D privacy policy.
Meta provides the platform features (leaderboards, purchases, entitlement). See the Meta Quest privacy policy.
Valve sells and delivers the Steam version. See the Steam privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your information, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
3. Your choices
Turn analytics off: in the game, open Settings > PRIVACY and set SHARE PLAY DATA to OFF. Analytics stop straight away and the game remembers your choice.
Leaderboards (Meta Quest version): these use your Meta account. You can manage what Meta shares with apps in your Meta account and Quest privacy settings.
Delete local data: uninstalling the game removes your progress, settings and the end-of-game photo from the headset.
Access or deletion requests: email us (section 6) to ask for a copy of, or deletion of, the analytics data linked to your device. Include your headset’s model; we may ask for more details to find it.
4. How long we keep it
Gameplay analytics are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the game, and for no more than 24 months. Leaderboard entries stay up while the game’s leaderboards run; Meta keeps account data under its own policy.
5. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Contact and changes
Questions or requests: info@invisiblegamedesign.com (Invisible Game Design).
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what we collect, the game will tell you before it applies.
